No purple shampoo? No problem. Keeping blonde hair brass and yellow-free is a tireless effort. The easiest way to keep it in shape is by using a toning shampoo or conditioner. There are tons of products on the market these days, but a lot of people complain that toning shampoos can dry out hair and are expensive to boot. A new product from OGX allows you to tone your hair using your own shampoo and conditioner! OGX Blonde Enhance + Purple Toning Drops (I may get a commission from this link) are concentrated purple drops that you mix into the product to create a custom toning product for hair. Just dispense your shampoo or conditioner into your hand, add 3 to 5 drops and mix! Use it just with shampoo, just conditioner or both! You can easily customize the level of toning. I found the less of drops you use, the more “blue” your mix will be. That works great for me because I prefer a blue shampoo to purple. I have used a lot of eyeshadow primers but this one beats them all hands down. They also recently changed the packaging from a wand to tube, which makes application easier and more sanitary. You can apply this primer and then wait for it to dry, or just put your shadow right over it. It makes your shadow last all day and concentrates the pigments. It is also great with creme shadow. It gave my Make Up For Ever's Aqua Cream shadow a more uniform, smoother look. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer is available in four colors, original (nude), Sin (Shimmering Champagne), Greed (Gold) and Eden (Matte Tawny). Eden is great if you have "stained" eyelids, it will cover and prime at the same time. Available at Sephora and UrbanDecay.com, $19.
