Get the Results of COLOR WOW Dream Coat with Sleek

Love COLOR WOW Dream Coat, but not the price? Try this Dupe.

If you have unruly hair that turns into a frizz monster at the slightest hint of humidity, you're likely obsessed with COLOR WOW's Dream Coat. This post-shampoo spray is legendary: it tames frizz, acts as a heat protectant, and smooths your hair to perfection, even adding sleekness and a bit of body to pin-straight styles.

But there’s one major drawback: the price tag. At $28 for a 6.7 fl. oz. bottle, maintaining that sleek, shiny look can get expensive quickly.

The Budget Solution That Delivers

Thankfully, a fantastic dupe that truly delivers comes from a company named Hair Chemist.

Their Sleek collection features targeted anti-humidity treatments for both straight and curly hair, along with a coordinating shampoo and conditioner. Here's where the savings come in: their prices start at just $6.99 for a 3 oz. bottle! You can easily find the Hair Chemist Sleek line online at Amazon (I may get a commission from this link.) and in stores like Marshalls and Sally Beauty.

How It Measures Up

So, the big question is: How does the budget-friendly competitor stack up against the luxury standard?Very well.

The application process is identical to COLOR WOW: you have to thoroughly spray it on sectioned, towel-dried hair, and then blow-dry it in to activate the anti-humidity agents.

  • Longevity: Just like the name-brand version, it lasts through 3 to 4 shampoos.

  • Scent: It has a light, clean, and pleasant scent that isn't overwhelming.

The only difference—and the single drawback I found—is the spray nozzle. The mist that comes out isn't quite as fine or wide-reaching as the COLOR WOW version, meaning you might need a couple of extra pumps per section to ensure full saturation.

The Final Verdict

For the massive savings and near-identical performance, this small inconvenience is absolutely worth it. The Hair Chemist Sleek collection is a brilliant, budget-friendly product that will keep your hair smooth, sleek, and frizz-free without emptying your wallet.

Go ahead and give your hair the humidity protection it deserves!

Winky Lux Has Lip Glosses That Taste Like Applebee's Wings

National Chicken Wing Day and National Lipstick Day were both last week and Winky Lux has some leftovers. To celebrate days in the chicken wing and lipstick worlds, Applebee's partnered with Winky Lux on a collection of wing sauce-inspired lip glosses. The "Saucy Gloss" collection has four different shades, each based on an Applebee's wing sauce: Get Me Hot Buffalo: Coral with hot buffalo spice flavor. Sweet Chile Kiss: Deep red with golden chile. Be My Honey Pepper: Honey-spiced gloss with shimmering flecks with hints of BBQ, honey and pepper.  Honey BBQ-T: Maroon with sweet Asian wing sauce flavors.  Each gloss is $18 or you can get the whole set for $65.  Applebee's made a video with four models wearing the lip glosses to first dates at Applebee's encouraging singles to get out there after Covid. "Applebee’s is known for first dates and wings – which are one of our most popular menu items,” said Applebee’s Chief Marketing Officer Joel Yashinsky. “So...

The most expensive nail polish you won't regret buying

For those of us who don't get regular manicures, great nail polish is a must. I wandered upon my new favorite in Nordstrom while browsing Deborah Lippmann's products. "Happy Birthday" is the coolest polish I have ever seen. It is made up of red, yellow, blue, orange, green purple, silver and gold mini confetti in a clear base. It almost looks like someone threw a bunch of confetti and it landed on your nails, hence the name "Happy Birthday" .     I just had to have it. Even at $18. Now, you have to consider that this is a premium brand that contains no toluene, formaldehyde or DBP. It is sold out   online and Nordstrom says they can barely keep it in stock. The one negative - the sales lady told me it takes a while to get it off.  Deborah Lippmann is a manicurist that started mixing up polishes for her celebrity clients like Mariah Carey, Sarah Jessica Parker and Cher.  She also has a line of hand and foot treatments, her "Rich Girl" hand and ...
